Age-friendly municipalities
The MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais is proud to announce that it was issued a certificate of recognition for the “Age-friendly municipalities” or “Municipalité amie des aînés (MADA)” program.
This certificate highlights our commitment towards senior citizens, allowing them to age well, while remaining active in their community.
The main purpose of the MADA approach is to adapt municipal infrastructures and services to better meet the needs of senior citizens, thus improving their quality of life and giving them the opportunity to remain in their community as long as possible. We are proud to have contributed to this important initiative, in an effort to improve the living conditions of senior citizens and to help them get involved in the social and cultural activities of their community.
The MADA approach is financed by the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services and the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais.
We would like to highlight the excellent work of the Des Collines Seniors' Roundtable (Table autonome des Aînés des Collines) and thank them for their important contributions towards developing the MADA action plan.
